According to Rotten Tomatoes, as I type this “Bolt” is running an 85% Freshness Rating, which is no little relief to me since it’s looking likely that The Wife™ and I will be taking our demon offspring to see it at some point this weekend. She’s still all hepped up about “Madagascar,” but there’s been a definite interest in Bolt for a few months now, especially since we saw an extended clip from the flick in front of “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” a few months back. We’re hoping to hit Disney’s theater in Hollywood, El Capitan, which I believe is featuring some sort of live stage show before the movie. Either that’ll be kind of fun and special adding to the experience, or annoying and cloying, therefore making the actual movie that much better. Either way, my daughter’ll be happy, so it’s a win/win situation.
From day one, “Bolt” has looked to me to be a Pixar movie with the Disney name bolted firmly overtop the Pixar logo, which isn’ exactly a surprise since they’re owned by the same people now. As Andrew pointed out to me, it’s most likely Lassiter’s influence finally coming through in the movies, which leads to the question of why the two studios are even still separate. Whatever the case, I’m actually looking forward to it.
