To celebrate the 65th anniversary of Little Golden Books (if you were ever a child you read a Little Golden Book at least once), the Pratt Free Library in Baltimore is having an exhibit of original illustrations from the iconic series through May 9, 2009.
Unfortunately we couldn't get down there to see the exhibit, but Nerd Grandma (and Grandpa) came through in the clutch and checked it out. According to my moms it's overall pretty good, but she was a little disappointed at its small-ish size. She noted most of the art was watercolor on very large pieces of paper -- presumably for reduction purposes in the book's production process.
Lucky for us, she took a few pics of the art on her iPhone AND emailed them to me. Extra nerd points for Grandma!! Baby boomers, ftw!!
