While it's not unusual, or even unreasonable, for companies to latch onto trends in order to make their buck off them, I was kind of surprised to see that Faber-Castell is not only marketing a line of "create your own manga" supplies, but that they actually sell colored marker sets with specific manga genres in mind. There's the generic "manga" colors, and then they offer another set in specific shojo manga colors. The kicker? These sets will run you - or more accurately, your kids - in the neighborhood of $20 a pop.
The most painfully ironic aspect of this whole thing is that 99% of manga ever drawn has been in black and white.
