Facebook Wants To Use You To Sell Crap To Your Friends

Well, isn't this great. I came home from a wildly successfult Comic-Con weekend of wrk to find this little tidbit circulating in my Facebook status updates. Seems Facebook's been quietly allowing advertisers to use member photos to sell stuff to their friends. Tsk tsk, Facebook. That's just not kosher.

At any rate, here's the message going around on how to opt out of this, in case you're interested.

FACEBOOK has agreed to let a third party advertisers use your posted pictures.

Click on SETTINGS up at the top where you see the Log out link.

Select Privacy.

Then select NEWSFEEDS and WALL.

Next select the tab that reads FACEBOOK ADS.

There is a drop down box, select NO ONE and SAVE your changes.

You may need to temporarily disable any ad-blocking filters.
