How We Roll

Problem: The Kid™ is still a toddler and needs to be in a car seat no matter where we travel. Not all rental agencies have car seats, and I tend not to totally trust those that do.

Solution: Bring our seat with us. It’s bulky as hell, however, and is just one more huge thing we need to lug around, making child-wrangling that much more difficult.

Solution 2: Teach the kid to do half the work for us, hang on tight and don’t let go.

Edit: In case anyone is wondering, this is the car seat bag we use. It’s fairly solid, suffering a few minor rips over the half-dozen trips we’ve taken, but it’s holding up well overall.
