Nerd News Roundup - 3.9.09

WOW we haven't done one of these in a while...

burnnotice- We have no empirical evidence to support this theory, but when a marginally popular - and genuinely entertaining - show like BURN NOTICE has it's season finale pop the highest ratings the show's seen to date, our first instinct is that people have been slowly jumping on board thanks to watching it on their computers. Otherwise, there's little reason we can come up with why the 28th episode would do so well. Also interesting to note, the show's actually been getting stronger all season, even though it's been going toe to toe with new shows on the big 4 networks. Sometimes quality actually counts for something!

- The New York Times finally has a couple graphic novel bestseller lists! Online, of course. In blog form, of course.  And they call them "graphic books," which is interesting. The three lists are: hardcover, paperback, and manga. The manga one is kind of a scream. But in their defense, what does one exactly say about umpteen Naruto books?

- A Best Thing Ever Nomination goes to the revelation that Daft Punk are going to be scoring Tron 2.0.

- Looks like the TWILIGHT movies will be adding some legitimacy to themselves as Dakota Fanning's going to be lending her award winning acting chops to the sequels.

- In other movie news, MARMADUKE will be making the jump from the stale cupboard of the comic book section of your newspaper to the big screen. Whether it's live action, animated or (most likely) some combination of the two has yet to be announced, but there is a director attached: SHANGHAI NOON's Tom Dey is holding the leash.
