Our New Stroller Is Awesome

Just recently, The Squirt got too small for the Baby Trend Snap N Go Flex-Loc* she was rocking for the first few months, so we decided to start looking for a big(ger)-kid stoller. Since for us it's all about the city driving, we knew we needed something lightweight and sturdy that was easy to: push, carry, store, fold and unfold, put the baby into/take the baby out of, drag on/off the subway.

At first we tried one of them ubiquitous (ubiquitous around here, anyways) Maclaren strollers. It was really pretty good, actually, and fulfilled all the criteria above. But it bothered us that the back of the seat didn't recline all that much. The deal for us is, even though we know it's not the ideal place for sleeping, often the stroller is the only place The Squirt will nap, and she needs to lean back a little in order to completely sack out.

After taking a pass on the widely beloved Maclaren, our tireless R&D Department (a.k.a. my wife) eventually discovered the somewhat oddly named UPPAbaby G-luxe, which we ended up testing at a local baby store and purchasing and are currently digging on. The stroller does everything we wanted -- which is a lot because we're needy -- and also reclines real nice and easy like. It's a bit pricey, but a solid investment, I think. We're going to use it a lot (hopefully...The Squirt doesn't enjoy being strapped into anything...good times...), and for a long time.

*Does "Baby Trend Snap N Go Flex-Loc" sound like Jamaican rudeboy slang to anyone else...?
