Disney will continue their track record of nominally releasing Studio Ghibli's films in the US with PONYO ON THE CLIFF BY THE SEA, retitled simply PONYO, this August. The Miyazaki creation was Japan's biggest blockbuster last year, bringing in over $172 million, while also receiving numerous awards. Of course, Disney's inability to fully market Miyazaki's work to theater goers in the States means it'll be lucky to break $25 million here, but whatcha gonna do?
Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Betty White and a Jonas Brother are among the voice talents slated to work on the English dub.
