San Diego Convention Center

At the end of July, the wife and I decided to gather up our things, strap the 5 month old in and attend the annual nerdtopia, aka, Comic Con International. Taking a baby into the mayhem that is over 130,000 fanboys and girls may seem insane to some, but we felt up to the challenge and figured that if our offspring was troubled by the sights, sounds and smells, we'd simply retire to the hotel for a weekend away from grandmother phonecalls and other distractions.

Not only did the baby girl handle the show well, aside from one outburst on day two, she downright enjoyed all the stimulation. Of course, the entire trip was made much easier by the simple fact that the San Diego Convention Center is about as Dad Friendly as it gets. There are copious restroom facilities, and every one we went into was outfitted with a diaper changing station in plain view. Even better, they're the ones that flip out lengthwise so you can strap the little one in and change them head on - I've never gotten the hang of sideways changing. Most had a trash can nearby to dispose of the used diaper and cleaning supplies, and if not, you could always drag one over prior to the changing ritual. Best of all, the convention center's restrooms always seem to have someone cleaning them, so there's no disgustingness to work around.

Convenience: 5 - If you're there, you're there, and the SDCC has copious amounts of restrooms.
Cleanliness: 5 - Always clean, never frightening.
Overall Rating: 5 - Clean restrooms with easily accesible Koala Kare stations? What more could you ask for?
