Is a mobile even a toy? The jury's been out on that one for, what, a couple hundred (couple thousand?) years now or whatever. But either way, kudos to Fisher Price for their Rainforest Peek-A-Boo mobile, an admittedly charming piece of work that spins around at a good speed; features four brightly colored, cartoony creatures; moving "leaves"; and a few different tasteful audio selections. It has transfixed my two-month-old daughter for a good few weeks now, and allows my wife and I a few minutes here and there to get our shoes on, go to the bathroom, argue about whose turn it is to clean the litter box, argue about who's going to do the dishes, etc.
In fact, it's gotten to the point where the kid babbles and gurgles and smiles at the mobile more than at us. "Don't take it personally," a friend of ours said.
